Martin Archer - Presenter, Voiceover, DJ Martin Archer - Presenter, Voiceover, DJ

Biography

Martin first started out in radio by volunteering at his local hospital radio station, Radio Wey where he presented his own request and chart shows.

When he started his Physics degree at Imperial College London, he became involved with their student station, IC Radio. Martin produced and presented a highly popular show called TBR (To Be Released) which was a showcase for brand new mainstream music. For Martin's final year however, he decided to come up with a new daily show for IC Radio which he called Liquid Lunch. Totalling 10 hours of broadcast a week, this was the single biggest project ever undertaken by a single person at IC Radio and had well over 100 shows. The features on Liquid Lunch were daring and exciting, examples included Martin blagging hius way into red carpet events, getting big name DJs on the show to give advice on getting a job, setting people up on dates, reporting out and about on campus... In 2006 Martin received two nominations for the Student Radio Awards in the Best Male and Best Entertainment categories, a feat very few can claim.

After graduating from Imperial, Martin firmly positioned himself within the UK Radio Industry. His first work came as a Cover Producer at Capital Radio working on the Breakfast, Late Morning, Afternoon and Drivetime shows. He also worked at Somethin' Else doing research and production for hit40uk, Cash Call and various Radio 1 specialist dance shows. In September 2006, Martin started working at USP Content and launched HMV's national in-store station Channel HMV, which he can be heard on from time to time.

Martin continued his presentation career at 107.8 Radio Jackie, launching their Saturday night show The Party combining classic party anthems, great listener interaction and lots of personality. This ran successfully for about 6 months when the move to Kiss came.

Martin landed the Kiss network Early Breakfast and Kiss 100 Sunday Breakfast shows in April 2007 which he continues to present to this day.

Alongside working at Kiss, Martin is also a DJ for clubs and events playing mostly commercial Dance, Hip Hop and RnB sets mixing in the new, current and old skool. He has also been known to play chillout, lounge/beach house, electro and funky house as well. Martin's DJ career has in the past seen him play alongside Sara Cox (Radio 1), Chappers & Dave (Radio 1), Letitia SD (Radio 1 & 1xtra), Dave Berry (XFM & MTV) as well as Dave Armstrong (Galaxy FM & Fierce Angel).
